On the feast of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American saint to be canonized, we will reflect on three important elements of Native American spirituality: the harmony between God and Nature, spirit and matter; the importance of community; and the call to generosity and sacrifice.
Fr. Kubicki SJ has worked among the Lakota Sioux three different times. He taught at Red Cloud Indian school for three years and was a spiritual director at the Sioux Spiritual Center for six years. Since 2017 he has been the director of St. Francis Mission on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota.
Fr. Kubicki entered the Jesuits in 1971 and was ordained in 1983. He has worked among the Lakota Sioux three different times.
